Born of Teresa and Federico Guzman, in Delicias, Chihuahua, our beloved María Yolanda Castillo known to many as Yoli, Yolanda, nana or the best tamale maker ever, was born on August 12, 1960.She is preceded in death by her father and her two brothers Rafael and Federico Guzman Jr. She is survived by her mother Teresa and her sisters Teresa (Sergio) Aleman, Rita (Gerardo) Redondo, and her brother Jesus (Irene) Guzman.

She will be missed by her dear husband of 43 years, Luis Javier Castillo and her 6 children, Luis Antonio (Vianay), Ricardo Javier (Yuryria), Julio Caesar (Danica), Monica Berenice (Enrique) Ortega, Veronica and Yulissa Castillo (Ruben). She loved her grandchildren and was proud of each one (Ayleen, Amesti, Víctor Antonio, Ava Luisa, Santiago Francisco, Ezekiel Javier, Citlalli Angeles, Anissa, Jaydon, Meleya, Enrique, Dominique, Roman) Yolanda was a blessing to many others.

The legacy that she left was remarkable. Our special lady was known for dignity, strength and love. Yolanda Castillo was a dignified woman respected by many for her noble spirit. Her home had an open door to anyone that was in need of a bite to eat or a coffee break, a shoulder to lean on or an attentive ear to listen.

Her strength was supernatural. She stood firm no matter what storms came, all while caring for her beloved mother with patience and endurance, always doing her best to provide for her as much as she could.

When she was diagnosed with cancer she did not flinch or coward away. She assured her children and husband that she was ready for war and would not go without a fight and that's exactly what she did. The doctors could not understand what kept her firm but we know it was her faith in her Padre Dios in whom she trusted that gave her the peace that surpasses all understanding.

Lastly Yolanda was defined by the word Love. Jesus defined 2 commandments as most important. One was to love the Lord our God with all our strength, mind and soul and to love our neighbors as oneself. She loved unconditionally and gave all of herself to her family and friends. Never judging a book by its cover but loving all as they were no matter what.

Truly she will be missed but, we know that our special lady will continue to live, not only because of her profession of faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, but also because of the memories in the hearts of all of those that were impacted by her dignity, strength and love.

As we wait for our time to come, we will remember the wonderful moments around the kitchen table, eating her amazing food and just being in her presence with kindness, laughter, and her fancy nails. Until we see you again, our precious gift from God, we will continue to love you so much.
