It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved Xavier Julian Martinez, a young man full of love, compassion, deep ambition, and an absolute goofball. He lit up any room he walked into and brought joy to so many people.

Xavier was born on December 15, 2008 in Blythe, California, to Cecilia and Francisco "Popper" Martinez, and entered his eternal rest on April 2, 2026, at the young age of 17. He was the baby of the family for many years until he was thrilled to become a big brother this past year to his baby sister/goddaughter, Adalyn; he was the absolute best big brother to Adalyn. Xavier was just two months shy of graduating from Twin Palms High School; he had big dreams and a whole life ahead of him that was cut too short. Xavier talked about joining the military after high school, but had recently decided to join the Border Patrol instead. Xavier looked forward to building his future and starting a family, always talked about having a wife and kids, sometimes joking he was going to have 15 kids.

Xavier was truly a genuine soul, so loving and kind, full of consideration for others, a protector, and a funny kid with a huge heart always willing to help anyone. Growing up, Xavier enjoyed being outdoors, either swimming in the backyard with his older sister and brother, riding quads in the desert, jetskis at the river with family, or playing video games with his brother. He enjoyed playing Little League and was inseparable from his big brother as they always shared the same baseball team and always wore matching clothes. Xavier had a huge sense of humor, always making silly faces and cracking jokes. He touched the lives of many family and friends, but overall he was the best son and brother a family could have. He was a best friend to his mom, and right hand man to his dad. His love for his siblings will go unmatched. When his baby sister entered this world, Xavier could always be counted on for big brother duties, such as making his sister's bottles, changing her diapers, preparing Adalyn's bath and helping pick out her outfits for the day. His love for his dogs, King and Prince, was unconditional, always playing and cuddling with them. Anyone who had the privilege of knowing Xavier, knew the love he spewed was genuine. He was so overprotective with his family, defending his big brother Popper growing up and always rocking behind his siblings, friends, and family. Xavier loved to travel, growing up he went on many trips to theme parks, beaches, aquariums, really anything fun and adventurous.
Recently, he went to Hawaii, took various trips to Puerto Peñasco, and even went on a cruise to Ensenada. He enjoyed the cruise so much that another cruise was already planned and reserved as his graduation gift this upcoming September 2026. He was looking forward to celebrating his 18th birthday along with his baby sister's 2nd birthday this upcoming Christmas at Disneyland.

Xavier is survived by his parents, Cecilia and Francisco "Popper" Martinez, his older sister Arlene Martinez, older brother Francisco "Popper" Martinez Jr., baby sister Adalyn Martinez, aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous friends and family members.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Jesus Arturo Martinez and Rosalia Silva; his paternal grandfather Victoriano Martinez; Tio Audelio "Lelo" Solorio; Tia Bertha Guzman; cousins Audelio "Lelito" Solorio and Deveon Smith.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Frye Chapel, from 5-8 pm, with Rosary beginning at 7 pm. Mass will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 10 am at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Burial will be at Palo Verde Cemetery, followed by a gathering to celebrate his life at the Catholic Church Parish Hall at 2 pm.

Es con el corazón pesado y una profunda tristeza que anunciamos el inesperado fallecimiento de nuestro querido Xavier Julian Martinez, un joven lleno de amor, compasión, profunda ambición y un auténtico payaso. Xavier iluminaba cualquier habitación en la que entraba y traía alegría a muchísima gente.

Xavier nació el 15 de Diciembre de 2008 en Blythe, California, a sus padres Cecilia y Francisco "Popper" Martínez, y entró en su descanso eterno el 2 de abril de 2026, a la temprana edad de 17 años. Él era el bebé de la familia durante muchos años hasta que este último año se sintió orgulloso de convertirse en un hermano mayor para su hermana pequeña/ahijada, Adalyn; era muy buen hermano mayor para Adalyn. Xavier estaba a solo dos meses de graduarse de Twin Palms High School; tenía grandes sueños y toda la vida por delante que se cortó demasiado pronto. Xavier habló de unirse al ejército militar después de graduarse, pero había decidido recientemente unirse a la Patrulla Fronteriza. Xavier esperaba con ilusión construir su futuro y formar una familia, siempre hablaba de tener esposa e hijos, a veces bromeando que iba a tener 15 hijos.

Xavier era realmente un alma genuina, cariñoso y amable, lleno de consideración por los demás, un protector, y un niño divertido con un gran corazón, siempre dispuesto a ayudar a cualquiera. Al crecer, Xavier disfrutaba estar al aire libre, ya sea nadando en la alberca con su hermana mayor y su hermano, montando en motos en el desierto, en jet skis en el río con la familia o jugando videojuegos con su hermano. Le gustaba jugar en la Little
League y era inseparable de su hermano mayor, ya que siempre compartían el mismo equipo de beisbol y siempre se vestían igual. Xavier siempre tuvo un gran sentido del humor haciendo caras tontas y bromeando. Tocó la vida de muchos familiares y amigos, pero en general, era el mejor hijo y hermano que una familia podía tener. Era el mejor amigo de su madre, y mano derecha de su padre. El amor por sus hermanos era inigualable. Cuando su hermana pequeña llegó a este mundo, siempre podríamos contar con Xavier para las responsabilidades de hermano mayor, como hacer los biberones de su hermana, cambiarle los pañales, preparar el baño y ayudarla a elegir su ropa para el día. Su amor por sus perros, King y Prince, era incondicional, siempre jugando y abrazándolos. Cualquiera que tuvo el privilegio de conocer a Xavier, saben que el amor que demostraba era auténtico. Era tan sobreprotector con su familia, defendiendo a su hermano mayor Popper mientras crecía y siempre defendiendo a sus hermanos, amigos y familiares. A Xavier le encantaba viajar, y de pequeño él hizo muchos viajes a parques temáticos, playas, y acuarios; realmente cualquier cosa divertida y
aventurera. Recientemente, fue a Hawái, realizó varios viajes a Puerto Peñasco e incluso hizo un crucero a Ensenada. Le gustó tanto el crucero que ya estaba planeado y reservado otro crucero como regalo de graduación este próximo septiembre de 2026. Esperaba ansioso para celebrar sus 18 años junto con el segundo cumpleaños de su hermana Adalyn esta próxima Navidad en Disneyland.

A Xavier le sobreviven sus padres, Cecilia y Francisco "Popper" Martinez, su hermana mayor Arlene Martinez, su hermano mayor Francisco "Popper" Martinez Jr., su hermana pequeña Adalyn Martinez, tías, tíos, primos y numerosos amigos y familiares.

Le precedieron en la muerte sus abuelos maternos Jesús Arturo Martínez y Rosalía Silva; su abuelo paterno Victoriano Martínez; Tío Audelio "Lelo" Solorio; Tía Bertha Guzmán; primos Audelio "Lelito" Solorio y Deveon Smith.

El velorio tendrá lugar el jueves 16 de abril de 2026 en Frye Chapel de 5-8 pm, con el Rosario a las 7 pm. La misa se celebrará el viernes 17 de abril de 2026 a las 10 de la mañana en la Iglesia Católica Santa Juana de Arco. El entierro será en el cementerio Palo Verde, seguido con una reunión para celebrar su vida en el Salón Parroquial de la Iglesia Católica a las 2 pm.
