Wilma Marcella Jarrett, 93, born November 30, 1924 in New Boston, Ohio - which is a village in Scioto County, Ohio along the Ohio river.

She died June 9, 2018 at 1:05 AM at St Elizabeth Healthcare and Rehab in Fullerton, CA after a long illness from a broken ankle for two years, but went peacefully in her sleep.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents Leonard Cotton (a steelworker)and Rosa Viola Cotton (a Midwife); her brothers and sisters, Leonard Cotton, Juanita Shonkwilker, Florence Fannin and Dwight Cotton, which she missed dearly.

She married Paul E. Jarrett on March 13, 1942 and they enjoyed 55 years of marriage together before he passed in July of 1997.

Wilma was one of the very first 17 year olds that went into factory work on a press machine in Cleveland, Ohio making bombs. After the war, Wilma and Paul moved back to Southern Ohio where she worked for Montgomery Ward and raising her family.  In 1963, Paul and Wilma (Marcella) moved to California and Wilma worked retail and factory and retired at the age of 68.  Wilma was very active in support of the Mason's, Shiners and El Riva Court in Riverside, CA.

Our family would like to pay tribute to her.  Wilma (Marcella) was one of the kindest people you could ever meet with a life lesson on reality attached to it.  She opened her heart and her home to many over the years.  She had a sense of humor and as a cousin stated, if you wanted to have fun visit with Marcella.  Wilma had the ability to be a leader in life and instilled that in her children and everyday as life support for family and friends.  She will be sorely missed.

Wilma is survived by 4 daughters, Wilma, Rosetta, Paula and Elaine; 10 grandchildren and 14 great children. Also, a brother in law and friend Ches Fannin for over 77 years residing in San Diego, CA.

Funeral Services will be at 1:30 pm on June 21, 2018 at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, CA.
