William Hunter Schall
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected, tragic passing of our beloved son, William Hunter Schall, on Wednesday, January 31, 2024.
William was born on October 10, 2001, to Jerry and Samantha Schall, at Palo Verde Hospital, after 42 weeks gestation (he was cozy in there). He was named after his Grandfather William Schall and his Great-Grandfather Jim Hunter. William was the oldest son of Jerry and Samantha, big brother to Jonathan, and the first grandchild and great-grandchild.
William grew up in Blythe, California. He attended Appleby Elementary school, and he was in the last graduating class at Blythe Middle School in 2015. He graduated from Palo Verde High School in 2019, where he proudly was a part of JROTC all four years. William was on the awards winning Marksmanship team for JROTC in 2018 and was on the team for three out of those four years. He represented his squad and was recognized by Blythe City Council for sharp shooting. He then attended Palo Verde College where he obtained his welding degree. William worked at Albertsons, filling various jobs, throughout the last four years. In August of 2023, he was awarded the Outstanding Customer Service Award. He was most recently accepted into the correctional academy and was awaiting a prison assignment.
William only got to experience life for 22 years, but in those short 22 years he lived authentically every day and touched so many lives. His kindness, big smile, funny personality, and playful demeanor brought brightness to any room. He had a passion for working on cars and trucks and building RC cars. He loved tinkering with things, playing video games with his brother Jonnie, cooking, trying new foods, fishing, hanging out with friends, and spending quality time with his girlfriend, Angelina. William loved and cherished his family. He had a huge heart, always willing to lend a helping hand, no matter where he was.
William is survived by his mom and dad (Jerry and Samantha), brother (Jonnie), girlfriend (Angelina), grandparents (Ron and Shirley), aunts (Wendy and Becky), cousins (Crystal, Jade, Ethan, Zooey, and Olivia), numerous second cousins, and others who loved him very much. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents (Bill and Laura), paternal aunt (Mandy), and his maternal great grandparents (Jim and Darlene Hunter, and Harry Wielin). William will be deeply missed, and his legacy and profound impact will always hold a special place in the many hearts and lives he touched.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of life gathering on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 11:00 am at the VFW at 148 N. 1st Street Blythe, California 92225.
