Wanda Barron, 79, of Blythe, CA, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, departed this life on July 1, 2022 after a prolonged and valiant battle with dementia.

Born Wanda Williams in Heber Springs, Arkansas to parents Leonard Ivan and Addie Lucille (nee Adcock) Williams, she moved to California at the age of three, attended Corona Senior High School, and married Antonio (Tony) Barron in 1961, becoming the mother of three sons:  Antonio Barron, Jr., Mark Barron, and Todd Barron.

Married to Tony for 60 years, they have 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Wanda and Tony moved to Blythe in August of 1989.  For 14 years, she worked for the California Department of Corrections at
Chuckwalla Valley State Prison as a principal in education.

She was passionately devoted to her family, to education, and to her Catholic faith.  She was an active parishioner at St. Joan of Arc
Catholic church in Blythe, where she served as an extraordinary minister of the Eucharist.

In addition to her husband, sons, and grandchildren, Wanda is survived by her sister Lynn (Darra) Babb and her brother Lathan Williams.

She passed away peacefully at Palo Verde Hospital in Blythe.

Vigil will be held on Wednesday July 13th (from 5pm to 8pm) at Frye Chapel and Mortuary, 633 N. 7th Street, Blythe, CA
92225; and Mass of the Christian burial will be on July 14th at 10 am at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 875 E. Chanslor Way, Blythe, CA 92225.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any memorial gifts be donated to worthy charities promoting Alzheimer's research.
