W. Chris
Howard
Jun 14, 1952 — Dec 18, 2025
Blythe
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wilma "Chris" Howard. Chris was born June 14, 1952, and went home to be with the Lord on December 18, 2025. Through her journey of 73 years, she touched many lives with her humor and love of life.
Chris is best known by many for the 30+ years working for the Palo Verde Unified School District. She began as a school bus driver and later transitioned to food services. She has left a lasting impact on her former students.
Chris loved to crochet and was always making baby blankets for anyone requesting it. She was a lifelong member of the VFW and would give of her time to assist with many of their functions. But most of all, she enjoyed the simple conversations with everyone she ran into. She would always listen and give wisdom with love and humor to those around her. She touched the lives of everyone who had the honor of knowing her.
Chris is survived by her husband of 50 years, Lloyd Howard, daughter Tammy Howard and son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Mia Howard. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Christian, Patty, Demarius, Donovan and her bonus daughter Christy Jakell and her girls Briana and Nicole, as well as many nieces/nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 10:00 am at Frye Chapel & Mortuary in Blythe. Following the service, there will be a celebration of life at the American Legion. We invite all who knew and loved Chris to join us in honoring her memory.
