Virginia Arroyo Pittman passed away peacefully at the age of 85 at Blythe Post Acute on June 27th, 2020 in Blythe, CA.

Virginia was born in Los Angeles, CA on July 30th, 1934 to Mauro and Atanacia (Arroyo) Orozco. Virginia spent a portion of her early childhood in Vidal Junction, CA where her father was a foreman for the railway system. In 1945 the Orozcos relocated to Blythe, CA where the family purchased land, built a home and raised livestock.

Virginia worked for several local employers throughout her life including J.C.Penney, Desert Plumbing, Sires Five and Dime and sewing store, Palo Verde Valley District Library and was also a cake decorator at Blythe Bakery.

Virginia was an active member of the Saint Joan of Arc Catholic Church. She often participated in the annual Bazaar and was a member of the Altar Society. She was also a member of the local chapter of The Red Hat Society.

Virginia was an expert seamstress. She also enjoyed needlepoint and a variety of other arts and crafts.

She was preceded in death by her brothers Joe and Larry Orozco and nephews Gary and Robert Orozco.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Doyle O. Pittman, her sister Maura (Dave) Schliekelman, stepdaughters Kimmie and Lisa Pittman, nephews Larry Wayne, Johnny, Joey, Christopher, Jason Orozco and niece Brenda Orozco.

Services will be held Thursday July 2nd at Saint Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Rosary will be held at 9:00 am and Mass will start at 10:00 am followed by burial at Palo Verde Cemetery.
