Tamaynga Marks, was born on October 5, 1973, at Pasadena California Memorial Hospital.  He was called home on November 13, 2023, at 4:44PM at UCSD Cardiac Hospital in San Diego, CA.

Tamaynga attended elementary schools in Pasadena and at the age of 10 he had begun taking Karate lessons. He earned the attention of his sensei's during his time there and they wanted to spar with him because he never backed down at his young age. During his training, he went from obtaining his white belt to skipping the yellow, orange and blue belts; he then proceeded to farther skip to the second stage brown belt.

At the age of 11 he and his mom moved to Pomona, CA. In Pomona he attended Junior High and Pomona High School where he played football for four years with his cousin/brother Anthony Jones. He and Anthony helped take the team to CIF playoffs. During those four years they played on the football team; a great accomplishment for the High School as it was the first time this had happened in 20 years. At the end of his senior year, he was awarded the outstanding defensive tackle award, and was being scouted by the NFL. Unfortunately, due to a shoulder injury, he was not able to secure the opportunity.  Tamaynga was an active part of the area football community, he was an assistant coach for his son Branden's Pop Warner football team. He was known as "Coach" wherever he would go. He was an avid Raider fan. He loved watching them with his mother, daughter and sons, but spent most of his time yelling at the TV.  He also enjoyed teasing and taunting his son Brian, who is a passionate Cincinnati Bengals fan, especially when they played against each other.

Later on, he and his mother together, attended Career Colleges of America in San Bernardino, CA., to become Pharmacy Technicians.  During their graduation ceremonies, it was announced that they were the first mother and son to attend at the same time compared to the usual mother and daughters. The bond between him and his mother was unbreakable. They were truly best friends.

After his graduation he was employed for approximately three years at the East Valley Hospital in Glendora, CA as a Pharmacy Tech.  Later, he transferred to Palo Verde Hospital in Blythe where he was affectionally known as "T by everyone. He was employed for the past 20 years as the Lead Pharmacy Tech.

Tamaynga has three wonderful children Brittany, Branden and Brian.  There was nothing he would not do for his children. He was always taking them and his mother on trips to Disneyland, Disney World, Universal and Knotts Berry Farm. When they were ready, he would then take them to Horror Nights and Knotts Scary Farm as well. He was a caring and dependable father/son, a person to confide in, and a great friend. He was easy to talk to and quick to jump to the defense of his loved ones.

Tamaynga is proceeded in death by his father Marvin Marks Jr.  He leaves behind his mom Irene Buther, his daughter Brittany and sons Branden and Brian. He also leaves behind three sisters:  Jackie, ShirVon and Merriah and a host of relatives and friends.

Tamaynga, you will dearly be missed. You will always live inside our hearts.  Love you always and forever.

Services will be held on Friday, December 1st at Frye Chapel.  Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., with funeral service starting at 11:00 a.m.
