Obituary

John Steven Raborn was born June 8, 1961, in Montebello, California to Neal Raborn and Paralee Stokes Munoa. He passed away May 13, 2026, after a long and difficult battle with cancer.

Steve as he was better known, spent his earlier years in Elsinore, Woodcrest and Riverside California, until the family moved to Blythe in 1974.

When Steve was little, he was know as "Dennis the Menace". He was always full of energy and into mischief. Steve had a great sense of humor and liked to tease people.

Steve had many talents and was meticulous when working on projects. He was an artist and liked to draw. Steve was good at building things with wood or metal and even won second place at the Indio Fair for a hammered metal plate that he completed at Matthew Gage Junior High School in Riverside.

Steve enjoyed the outdoors. He was known to ride his skateboard while doing a handstand. Steve liked Nascar, off road racing, the river, swimming, riding motorcycles and many other outdoor activities. He enjoyed his volunteer time he spent on the Blythe Fire Department and the friendships he made there.

Steve was preceded in death by his father, Neal Raborn and his brother Tom Raborn. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Raborn, his children, Brandon Raborn (Ashley), Ryan Raborn (Jessica), Tyler Raborn (Lety), and Alyssa Raborn, mother, Paralee Munoa, brothers Robert and Scott, sisters Sonya and Pam, and grandchildren Riley, Jace, Rosie, Ava, and Ryan.
