Stella Eulah Hightower was born on December 15, 1927 to Jess and Minnie Reid at home in Parker, AZ shortly after her twin sister Della. Jess and Minnie moved their family to the Palo Verde Valley in 1944. Stella graduated from Palo Verde High School in 1948. Stella worked at the telephone company where she retired after 30 years of service.

Stella married Gene Hightower in 1954. They raised their four children together in Blythe. They filled 57 years of marriage with lots of adventures in the desert and many family memories. Playing a family game of Yahtzee was a favorite past time of hers and she was hard to beat!

Stella had a deep faith in God and chose to begin her walk with God when she was a teenager. Her words of wisdom to us were "Read and pray every day and live it." She will be remembered for sitting at the kitchen table with her Bible.

Stella passed away surrounded by her family on May 20, 2022 at the age of 94. She is survived by her children Allen (Becky) Hightower, Kirby (Kathy) Hightower, and Donna (Chris) Pedone; eight grandchildren Chris Jr, Christina, Rhonda, Gina, Alyssa, Britney, Ciara, Dustin, and 18 great grandchildren. Also, her brothers Ira, Jess, and Robert Reid, a sister Dessie Rutledge and numerous family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband Gene, her daughter Libby, great granddaughter Clarissa, and her sisters Della Detweiler and Lee Ora Carnes.

Stella was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Services will be held on Friday, June 3rd, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Frye Chapel.
