Obituary

Stefany Renae Barber (Hutchinson) was born in Blythe, CA on August 22, 1989 and was called home to heaven on May 31, 2017. Stefany was known for her infectious laugh and her gorgeous smile. She had a huge heart and a free spirit that was adored by her family and friends.

Stefany was baptized as a precious child of God in 1989, and then confirmed in 2002 at Zion Lutheran Church. Her early school years were spent at Zion Lutheran School, Blythe Middle School, and then Palo Verde Valley High School, graduating with the class of 2007. In high school, Stefany was a member of Blythe FFA and held the office of Greenhand Secretary. She loved raising animals to show at the fair. She enjoyed taking dance lessons and was a member of the Palo Verde High School Dance Team throughout her high school years. After high school, Stefany attended Palo Verde College where she majored in Early Childhood Education and earned her pre-school teaching certificate. She worked as a preschool teacher at Primeros Pasos Child Care in Blythe, and then moved to San Clemente, CA to work at KinderCare.

Stefany was a "kid magnet", she loved children and they loved her! She also was a nanny for several families in Blythe, Palm Desert, and Orange County.
Spending time at the beach, particularly family vacations in Pismo Beach, CA was a love of hers. Hours were spent combing the sand for treasured sand dollars, riding bikes, watching whales and dolphins, body surfing, "catching rays", and taking pictures. She loved going to the funky little beach town for breakfast burritos in the morning and pizza for dinner! Stefany was always late to family gatherings. She was known to be on "Stefany time" since she never left the house without looking amazing and she was, amazing! She loved her family, her friends, all her "kids", her music, and her Lord.

Stefany leaves behind her loving mother Jennifer Barber, grandparents Ed and Virginia Barber, her aunt Carrie Mullion, uncles Mark Mullion and Alan Northington (Loni), sister-cousins Andi Stroschein, Kaylee Gelinas (Chris), Mary Ann Maxfield (Dana), brother-cousin John Mullion (Mary), and many other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. We will miss her greatly, but take comfort in knowing that to be absent in the body is to be present with the Lord, and we know Stefany is safe in the arms of Jesus.

A memorial in Stefany's name has been set up at Zion Lutheran Church to purchase audio visual equipment for the nursery and sanctuary.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 11:00 am at Zion Lutheran Church for Stefany Renae Barber (Hutchinson).
