Starr D. Nelson passed away on July 28, 2021 after a long battle with cancer at the age of 76. Starr was born in Akron, Ohio where she lived for 17 years until she moved to Azusa, CA . She moved to Blythe, CA in 1977.

Starr and Jackie Nelson married in 1989 and lived a full, happy and loving life for 31 years. She will be greatly missed by her children James Gregory, Randy Gregory ( Shelly), Tammy White (Daryl), Steven Gregory (Jenny), Mellony Downes (Rick), Jackie Nelson Jr and Dwayne Nelson, along with 22 grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren which were a shining light to her life.

She moved to Delano, CA in 2004 for a promotion within the State of California prison system where she retired in 2007. She then moved back to Blythe to enjoy her retirement. Starr enjoyed Tai Chi, going to the casino and traveling with her husband, watching Hallmark movies, playing games with family, crafting, and making homemade cards for her family each holiday and birthday. She was feisty, witty, friendly, loving and was "always right". Her hugs made you feel loved and special. Her laughter was infectious.

Gathering will be October 9th at her home, 18490 Blythe Way, at 2:30pm to celebrate Starr's life.
