Obituary

Stacey E. Phipps, 47, passed away on January 10, 2019 at home with her family by her side holding her hand.  She struggled for 17 months with breast and brain cancer.  She fought so hard to beat this and stayed so strong through it all.

Stacey attended the local Blythe schools; Ruth Brown Elementary, the Zion Lutheran Church school and Palo Verde High School, graduating with the Class of 1989.  She was so looking forward to her 30th Class Reunion.  Stacey was active in Jobs Daughters, 4-H Club and Blythe FFA.  She had taken college courses and earned many college certificates including her Associate's Degree in Science, certificates in Computer Applications, Graphic Design & Web content, 3D Printing and Rapid Prototyping and 3D Computer Animation - this one being her favorite.  She was the picture taker for so many of her friends during birthdays, reunions and vacation bible school, which she loved to help out with, especially in the crafts.  She was known as "Stacey-the-wreath-maker", which she loved to do.  Stacey babysat so many kids that she still kept in touch with after all the years and she never missed a birthday.  She also enjoyed going on shopping trips.  She was the person that lit up the room when she walked in!

Her greatest love was her great-nephews Christian and Ivan.  They loved their Aunt Stacey.

She is survived by her mom, Sidney Jackson and stepdad Mike Jackson; her brother Skeeter (Tara) Phipps; step-siblings Amber & Jody Jackson; nieces Amanda (Rick Perez) and Anna Phipps; nephews Jakob and Mason; great-nephews Christian and Ivan Perez; also her dear friend Krista Wadley, who has done so much for Stacey throughout all of this.  She is also survived by her aunts Dorothy (Joe) Soto and Monta Koontz; uncle Richard (Becki) Phipps and many cousins and friends.

Stacey was preceded in death by her father BilRoy Phipps and grandparents Walt and Lida Denewiler and Bud and Everta Phipps.

We would like to thank the BCRC for all the support and to River Valley Home Hospice for all of their care and comfort they showed Stacey throughout her last journey.  She is now the angel she always was, watching over all of us.

A memorial service will be held for Stacey on Friday, February 1, 2019 (on her 48th birthday) at Frye Chapel at 10:00 a.m., with a gathering following at the VFW.  We will be celebrating her birthday, which always made us smile.  Any dishes contributed to the reception after the service would be greatly appreciated.  We also ask that in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Blythe Cancer Resource Center, P.O. Box 1266, Blythe, CA 92226.
