Shannon Michelle Garcia was born on April 16th, 1973 in Springfield, Illinois. At the age 45, she passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 18th, 2018 at UC San Diego Medical Center in La Jolla, California.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond Garcia; Sons: Aaron, Nicholas and Miguel Garcia; Mother-in-Law: Rosie Robbins; Father in Law: Manual Garcia; Father: Walter L. Stewart Jr and Mother: Marsha Kay Stewart; Brothers: Walter, Michael and Harold Stewart; Sister: Harmony; Brothers and sisters-in-laws Sandra, Mona, Angie, Elaine, Manuel, and Johnny; Aunt and Cousins: Joanne and Laura Hartin; Bethany, Matthew and Chandra with and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Shannon graduated in 1991 from Palo Verde High School. She married Raymond Garcia on July 21st, 1997, in Blythe, CA. She worked for many years at two long time local businesses, Imperial Hardware and Sizzler before serving 16 years with the State of California at Ironwood State Prison.
Shannon truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; chatting with friends and family, reading, and spending time with her husband and children. Shannon had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Shannon touched are invited to Zion Lutheran Church, 721 E. Chanslorway in Blythe, from 8-10am on Friday, Nov. 2nd, for visitation and for funeral services beginning at 10:00 am, to reminisce, grieve, support each other and pay tribute to such a beautiful life gone too soon.
