Santiago Parra Burrola, age 90, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at his home in Blythe, California.
Santiago was born on November 18, 1929 in Morenci, Arizona to Santiago Cruz Burrola and Maria Parra Burrola. He moved to Blythe in the mid 1950's and shortly after began working at J.R. Norton Ventures, where he remained until his health forced him to retire at the age of 85. Farming was his passion and he took advantage of enjoying his trade for as long as he could.
Santiago was preceded in death by his son Francisco 'Frank' Burrola, son-in-law Hector Sanchez, daughter Virginia Leon and granddaughter Guadalupe V. Sanchez.
He is survived by his wife, Aurora Burrola; his children, Manuel R. Burrola, Jose R. Burrola, Mary Helen R. Sanchez, Donna R. Burrola, Socorro R. Herrera, Santiago Burrola Jr., Cynthia Burrola and Michelle Burrola; 27 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; siblings, Lorenza, Marcelino, Manuel and Ramona; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 22nd from 5-8:00 p.m. at Frye Chapel, with Rosary starting at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be Tuesday, June 23rd at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church with interment following at Palo Verde Cemetery.
