Obituary

Samuel De La Paz, of Blythe, California, passed away on July 21, 2023 at age 83, at home, surrounded by family, just the way he always wanted.

Sam was born in Mexico to Pedro and Maria de Jesus De La Paz.  He made Blythe his home away from home when he moved here at just 20 years young.  He worked for Fisher Ranch for almost 50 years, where his work ethic was on display 7 days a week.  Several years after moving here, he married his beautiful wife in Mexico, brought her to Blythe and started a family.  Nothing meant more to Dad than his family!  His joy was to have dinner every night together, all vacations in Mexico with more family and later in life, surrounded by grandkids. To the outside world, he was serious, but around family, he had a great sense of humor, was a great story teller and had a mischievous smile that would light up a room.

Sam is survived by his wife Dolores, his 4 daughters Leticia, Lupita, Elizabeth and Yadira.  He is also survived by his 12 grandchildren, which he cherished and loved very much.  He was predeceased by his beloved only son J. Samuel De La Paz, who passed away too young in 2020.

Viewing will be held at Frye Chapel and Mortuary on Sunday, July 30th at 6pm, with Rosary starting at 7pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 31st at 9am at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church with Graveside service following.
