Russell Lyle Venable, a husband, father, son, and brother passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2021 at the age of 64.

As a lifetime resident of Blythe, Russell loved all the elements Blythe had to offer. Whether it was riding motorcycles, camping, fishing, hunting, or enjoying the river, he gave 110% to anything he was passionate about.

Russell was born to Edgar Lyle and Dessie Ann Venable on January 9, 1957 in Blythe California. He later became a brother to his only sibling, Sandra. As Sandra's older brother, he was always by her side to protect her.

Russell graduated from Palo Verde High School in 1975. Shortly thereafter, he began his first career of 20 years in the grocery business. During this time, he made numerous lifelong friends and met the love of his life, Cindy.

Russell and Cindy were together for nearly 40 years, 35 of those being married. His greatest achievement was becoming a father to his two children, Jacqueline and Russell.

In 1996, Russell began his career with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. His entertaining personality and contagious laugh brought many smiles to all who worked with him. He worked until his medical retirement in 2010.

Russell is survived by his wife, Cindy, daughter, Jacqueline (Kenneth) Salazar, son, Russell (Lyndsey) Venable, mother, Dessie Rutledge, sister, Sandra (Ty) Kharazi, six grandchildren, Arianna, Kenneth, Ava, Gavin, Gage, and Lyla, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Russell is preceded in death by his father, Edgar Lyle Venable.

Russell will be remembered for his outgoing personality, infectious laugh, and his fun-loving spirit. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Frye Chapel and Mortuary in Blythe California at 11AM. A luncheon will be held at the VFW hall immediately following.
