Ruben Raymond Cordova, 77, passed away August 23, 2019 in Rancho Mirage, California with loved ones by his side. Ruben was born August 31, 1941 in Blythe, California to Jesus and Nicolasa Cordova.  Ruben attended elementary schools in Blythe and graduated from Palo Verde High School with the Class of 1961.

Ruben served in the US Army from 1961-1966.  He worked for the City of Blythe Public Works Department as a Street Maintenance Supervisor for 31 years before he retired.  Ruben enjoyed RV'ing, fishing, going to the casino, BBQing, watching old western movies, the Los Angeles Dodgers and spending time with his grandkids.

Ruben is survived by his wife, Sharon Cordova, 2 sisters - Dolores Cordova and Grace Anderson; daughters - Gina (Dino) Navarro, Sherri McCarthy, Diane Blackmon; son - Carlos (Erika) Rios, 13 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jesus, his mother Nicolasa, his siblings - Leonore Urrea, Josie Carter, Jesus Cordova, Richard Cordova, Ralph Cordova, Gregory Cordova and Roy Cordova and granddaughters - Chanda Donohoe and Arianna Robertson.

A visitation will be held Thursday, Sept. 5, 2019 at Frye Chapel from 6 - 8 pm.  Funeral services will be Friday, Sept. 6, 2019 at Frye Chapel at 10 am with burial following the services at Palo Verde Cemetery.
