Rosina was born in Brawley, California on November 30th, 1940, she was the eldest child of eight children. She worked at Palo Verde College for approximately fifteen years, the last 5 years as a Guidance Counselor while continuing her education and earning a Bachelor's degree in Social Psychology from Park University and eventually attended Walden University where she received her Master of Science Degree Psychology, and went a step further and she worked on her PHD in Psychology.
She is preceded in death by her son Manuel Urrea Jr, her son Albert Jess Urrea (Twin to Raymond Urrea), her Grandson Miguel Antonio Urrea II, her husband Trinidad C. Ortiz, parents Mary Ortiz and Jess R. Thomas, along with siblings Christina L. Thomas and Yolanda Mazon. She is survived by five of her seven children: Molly Larez, Mary Ann Canez, Miguel Urrea, Raymond Urrea and her youngest Tania Rodriguez, as well as her sisters Irene Leiderbrand, Rachel Rosch, Gloria Balley (Harry); Brothers Albert Givens, Joe Ortiz, and Jess Thomas. She also leaves numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, many nieces and nephews, & the many friends she had throughout the years.

Services for Rosina will be held on Friday, July 17th, 2026 in Blythe. Viewing will start at 8:00am at Frye Chapel & Mortuary and Mass will be held at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church at 10:00am. Burial will follow immediately after at Palo Verde Cemetery.
