It is with great sorrow that we announce to the community of Blythe that Rosalia Castro, passed away on June 6, 2024.

Our loving mother, "nana", and great grandma was 87 years old.

She was a most beautiful soul. Known by family, friends, and neighbors as a very nice and sweet person.

Rosalia was born in Las Varas, Saucillo, Mexico on September 3, 1936. She moved to Blythe in 1966. Rosalia was the 2nd of 4 girls born to Jesusita Zapata and Jose Castro. She was the last of the sisters to pass away.

Rosalia had kidney disease and died from complications in Tucson, AZ.

Rosalia loved to have her family visit and would pray for them. She would give them her "bendicion" (blessing) when they were about to leave. Rosalia would read her prayer book daily and was devoted to her Catholic faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Mike Castro, daughter Martha Alicia, and son Michael Castro.

She is survived by her children Irma (Emilio) Sanchez, Rosa Elvia (Johnny) Ybarra, and Jorge Castro.

Also surviving her are grandchildren: Lety (John) Wilson, Paty Sanchez, Jose (Naomi) Sanchez, Cristina Sanchez, Martita Ybarra, Rosalia Castro, Michael Castro Jr., Jazmine Castro, Maria Castro, and Madelyna (Rex) Lainez, Shirley (Eduardo) Ayala, Valeria (Ruben) Gomez, and many nieces and nephews.

Services for Rosalia will be: Viewing on Thursday 6/20 at Frye Chapel and Mortuary 5pm-8pm. Also mass and burial on Friday 6/21 at the Catholic Church and Palo Verde Cemetery.

Flowers may be ordered at the local Albertsons flower shop. May our beloved rest in peace!
