Ronny Lee Brown
Born July 8, 1950 – Passed Away June 23, 2024

Ronny Brown passed away at his home in Blythe, California on Sunday, June 23, 2024.

Ronny was born in Mesa, AZ and his family moved to Blythe when he was around 2 years of age.  He attended Palo Verde High School until midway through his senior year when he quit school to work to help his Mom and Dad.

He was drafted into the Army in 1970 and was medically discharged April 24, 1972. He served in Vietnam as a gunner on an APC until he was injured. He was hospitalized in a Vietnam base hospital and later transferred to Fort Riley Army Hospital where he was later discharged.  Ronny didn't receive his Purple Heart until June 12, 1998.

Ronny met and married Alvera Berberia on December 1, 1973.  After the Army, he worked at various jobs in and around Southern California as a Carpenter, Truck Driver and a Land Leveler for Brown's Laser Service of Blythe, CA.  He continued doing land leveling here in the Blythe area with his daughter's business 'We Laser' until the business closed. He has continued helping people and working with some of the local farmers teaching and showing them the art of Land Leveling until his death.

He is survived by his wife Vera Brown; his daughter Monica Echard and previous husband Joe Echard; their daughters Brooke and Bree, also Monica's extended family Jill, Kori, Kaden; his second daughter Michelle Mallett and her husband Darren and their children Landyn, Cash, Collyn; great granddaughter Scarlett Jane Phipps, daughter of Brooke and Jeffrey Phipps, all of Blythe, California; two brothers Albert Brown of Texas, Benny Brown of Washington and one sister Susan Lal of Oklahoma.

A memorial service will be held for Ronny on Friday, July 12, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Frye Chapel & Mortuary in Blythe.  A reception will follow after the services at VFW Post 2987, 148 N. 1st Street, Blythe, CA.
