Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Roberto Quevedo Piñón Sr., a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Roberto entered eternal rest on January 13, 2025, at the age of 56.

Born on April 3, 1968, in El Paso, Texas, to Jose and Graciela Piñón, Roberto moved with his family to Blythe, California, at the age of five. His family relocated to follow the agricultural seasons for employment, and it was in Blythe where Roberto grew up surrounded by his siblings—Norma, Rudolfo, Martin, Jorge, Luis, Danny, Gracie, Elsa, and Ita.

Roberto's life was a story of transformation and redemption. At the young age of nine, he found himself on a bus with prisoners being transported to a detention facility in Southern California. In the years that followed, he faced challenges, spending time in and out of jail and prison. In 1995, Roberto experienced a life-changing moment when he gave his life to God. From that point on, his faith became his foundation, and he devoted himself to living and spreading God's word.

In 1987, Roberto met Rosemarie Garcia in Sacramento, California, and they began a beautiful journey together. Their union was blessed with eight children: Lee Gonzales, Joaquin Gonzales, Richard Hughes, Angelica Piñón, Gracielita Piñón, Roberto Piñón Jr., Jonas Piñón, and Samuel Piñón. Roberto was also a proud grandfather to many grandchildren, whose lives he touched with his love, wisdom, and faith.

For over 30 years, Roberto shared his testimony and ministered to those around him, always speaking about the transformative power of God's grace. He found joy in telling others what God had done for him and inspired countless people to seek hope and redemption in their own lives. Roberto will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his deep love for his family, and his compassionate spirit. He was a man who overcame great struggles to become a beacon of hope and light for those who knew him.

Roberto is survived by his beloved wife, Rosemarie, their children, his siblings; his grandchildren, and a large extended family who will forever cherish his memory.

In honor of his memory, the family encourages all who knew him to continue his mission of spreading love, kindness, and faith to the world.

A memorial service will be held for Roberto on Saturday, January 25th at 10:00 a.m. at Frye Chapel & Mortuary.
