Robert Sanchez, 51, passed away at home in his sleep on Thursday, March 30, 2018, in
Blythe, CA. He was born April 19, 1966, to Manuel & Senorina Sanchez, the eldest of six children. He worked at the Employment Development Department up until last year when he retired.

Robert was a devoted son, father, brother, nino, uncle, and godson. Robert always made time for his family and friends. He took extra pride in his God-kids, they meant everything to him. Occasionally he would have lunch with his two god-daughters while in Palm Desert after his dialysis, dinner with an old college buddy, or stop by and visit with his god-sons. He was a strict father and nino, laying down the law of do's and don'ts, but never lacked in the love department, always remembering to say "I love you", and give you a hug and be on his way. His love for all was so great it would show in his Christ-like actions: sending texts to see how everyone is doing, making phone calls just to say hi, or buy a little something when he had seen something that reminded him of someone. He was a blessing as a son, taking care of his mother, taking her to church, preparing her meals, up until the end of his days when he would be her caretaker. He was also sure to attend the fair to see his nephews and god-son's projects and go to baseball, football, and soccer games, showing love and support.

As you all know Robert loved the outdoors also. His favorite pastime was hunting, he would try and go out hunting every year taking his sidekick Thunder. (Ah, a man and his dog). Robert would even go and spend the afternoon with his nephews fishing and talking "guy" talk. During Easter time, Robert would camp with everyone side by side, enjoying the river and spending time with his family, telling stories of him and his buddies at the University and always giving props to his friends, who were there by his side during finals, parties, and road-trips. He cherished all his friendships from school, work, and outside functions. One of the many friendships he cherished was Lorraine's, she held a special place in his heart, he was his confidant and mentor often taking him to countless doctor's appointments.

During his sad days his faith never faulted. He would pray, read his bible, and attend church as often as he was able. Robert is a true imagine of a Christ-like image of god. He will be missed by all.

He is preceded in death by his father Manuel I. Sanchez; his grandparents and uncles.

He is survived by his mother Senorina Sanchez; sisters, Isabel (Robert) Verduzco, Susana (Heriberto) Cavazos, Natalia Sanchez, Lourdes (Earl II) Sonner, Candelaria Sanchez (Wesley VanHook); his children Sofia, Teresa, Victor (his wife Alex); his nephews, Andre Verduzco, Amaris Verduzco, Ashley (Jared) Kuamoo, Heriberto (Christina) Cavazos, Jacob Cavazos, Donovan Reno, Diego Reno, Wesley Van Hook II, Christian VanHook, Mitchell VanHook, Earl Sonner III, Nicolas Sonner; great-niece, Isiana (Serena) Urias; uncles, aunts, god-children, and numerous loving cousins.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 4, 2018, 6-7pm viewing and 7-8pm Rosary at Frye Chapel and Mortuary. The funeral services will be Thursday, April 5, 2018, at the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 875 E. Chanslorway in Blythe with Mass at 10:00 am, with the service continuing on at the Palo Verde Cemetery at 11:00 am. The funeral reception will be at 12:00 noon held at the Blythe Iglesia Adventista del Septimo Dia, 415 E. Barnard, Blythe, CA 92225, So please for him come and share your thoughts and memories of Robert - shifting our thoughts from how much we'll miss him, to what a great soul he was. Today we will honor, respect and remember a great man who touched and enriched all of our lives in so many way.
