Richard Paul Avery, June 2,1947 to September 14, 2021.  He was born in Glendale, California to Clyde E. Avery and Darlene Felece Batchler Avery.  Richard graduated from Palo Verde Valley High School in 1965. He enlisted in the USMC in Aug. 1965 and served in Vietnam until Aug. 1971.

Richard worked as an Air Traffic Control Officer for 10 years.  In April 1988 he joined the Department of Corrections where he retired from in 2005.

Richard is survived by his stepmother, Ginger Avery,  his brothers Glen and Doug, his wife Diana, and their children; Paul, Annemarie, Tina, and Richard.  He leaves behind fourteen grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, in-laws, out-laws, extended family and friends.

He was a simple, straightforward man and you always knew where you stood with him.  He had high morals, great work ethics and loved his family and friends dearly.
