Ramon Gomez Mendoza, age 90, passed away on November 23, 2023 after a brief illness. He was born on December 15, 1932 in Tepatitlan Jalisco Mexico to Pedro Mendoza and Maria de Jesus Gomez. Ramon was the eldest of his four siblings, Jose, Miguel, Angelina and Pedro Mendoza.

Ramon arrived to the Palo Verde Valley in the mid 1950's as part of the Bracero program. He was able to become a resident of this country with the help of his employer George Arakelian Farms, where he worked until his retirement as a General Foremen in 1997. He was forever grateful for the opportunity afforded to him and his lifelong relationship with the Arakelian family.

He had many friendships cultivated over his life in the Palo Verde Valley and he was always eager to stop and chat with old and new friends alike. He sorely missed his friends and compadres that had gone before him, and he had a daily ritual of prayer in memory of all those that had touched his life.

Ramon was preceded in death by his son Joseph Stephen Mendoza, October 30, 1981. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Gloria Mendoza, his daughter Carlota Paredes (Eustacio), son Raymond Mendoza (Yohanna), his grandchildren Ramon E. Paredes, Gloria Salgado (Francisco), Melody Jimenez (Antonio) and 7 great grandchildren.

A rosary will be held at Frye Chapel in Blythe on December 11, 2023 at 7:00PM with a mass at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church at 10:00AM on December 12, 2023.
