Ralph Anthony Linares, age 89, died on August 25, 2018 in Gig Harbor, WA.
He was born on March 25, 1929 to Ralph and Irene Linares in Whittier, CA. He moved to Blythe, CA and grew up on a farm eventually meeting the love of his life Uva Dean Arthur. He married her in 1949 and was married for 69 years. He worked in the Trucking Transportation Industry for 46 years having worked for Western Gillette, Desert Express and retiring as Branch Manager for Yellow Freight in Bakersfield, CA. He enjoyed the trucking industry and reminenced re-sighting story after story of all the good times he had with the people he met in the industry. He enjoyed golfing and cooking. He loved to cook basque food from recipes he learned from his mother. He was an Honorary member of the Elks Lodge in Blythe.
He is survived by spouse Uva Dean Linares who is currently residing in Gig Harbor,WA. Children; Deborah and Jerry Freeland, Johnny and Tammy Broussard and William Linares (deceased). Grand-children; Matthew Irwin, Cory and Stefanie Irwin, Kiley Irwin, Jenna and Tracey Wood, Johnny Broussard II; Danielle Broussard and Colton Miller. Great-grandchildren; Isabella Irwin, Rory Wood, Ryder Irwin, Gwyneth Wood, Auggie Irwin and Van Wood. Brother; Louie and Joyce Linares, Sister; Delfina and Cliff Fawcett (deceased).Nieces and Nephews; Patricia and Thomas Augustine, Lisa Linares, Kathy Linares, Louie and Kelly Linares, Krista and Matt Behringer, Ronald Brown and Sue Pollack.
Services will be held on Saturday at 10AM December 1st at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Following mass a memorial service will be held at Palo Verde Cemetery. The Linares family would like to invite friends and family to Las Casita Dos restaurant following the Memorial Service.
