In Loving Memory of R. William "Bill" Wehrli
March 15, 1940 – June 2, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of R. William Wehrli, known lovingly as Bill, who departed this life peacefully surrounded by family and love.

Born on March 15, 1940 in Prineville, Oregon, the eldest child of R.P. "Bob" Wehrli and Mary Helen Delia Wehrli, Bill lived a life defined by deep devotion—to his faith, his family, and his community. For 57 years, he was married to the love of his life, Linda Wehrli. Together, they built a beautiful family and a lifetime of cherished memories.

Bill was a man who never met a stranger. He had an innate ability to connect with anyone, a gift that touched countless lives and brought warmth and sincerity to every room he entered. Other than his commitment to the Church, he valued family above all else and dedicated his life to their happiness and well-being.

A talented athlete and thinker, Bill attended the University of Portland, where he played basketball and studied philosophy—a combination that captured both his adventurous spirit and his intellectual curiosity.

In 1972, Bill and his family made their home in Blythe, California. After holding various positions, he followed his entrepreneurial instincts and opened his own tax accounting firm: Income Tax Specialist of America. More than a business, it became a family-centered practice and a reflection of Bill's character—honest, dependable, trustworthy, and always welcoming. He poured his heart into his work, joyfully serving his clients until the age of 82, when his family finally convinced him—gently and lovingly—that it was time to pass the baton.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Linda, their six children: Bill Wehrli Jr. (Irina), Robert Wehrli (Yuki), Patricia Cooper (Kevin), Michelle Wehrli, Melinda Bartnik (Jim), and Jon-Paul Wehrli (Sopie). He was a proud grandfather to Joe Dominguez, Tim Wehrli, Alex Wehrli, Robert Wehrli, Raina Wehrli, Jadon Wehrli, Andrew Wehrli, William Wehrli, Whitney Elliott, Wyatt McNary, Elizabeth Korner, Sean Bartnik, Sarah Bartnik, Conor Bartnik, Grace Wehrli, Noah Wehrli, Barrett Wehrli and a very recent first-time great grandfather to Danielle Bartnik.

Bill was preceded in death by his grandparents, Emmet and Emily Smith, parents Bob and Helen Wehrli, and his sister Patricia Wehrli.

He will be remembered always for his warmth, humor, strength, and steadfast love. Bill Wehrli was truly one of a kind, and his presence will be missed beyond measure.

A viewing, with traditional Rosary lead by his respected friend, Deacon Han, will be held Tuesday, June 10th from 5-8:00 p.m. (Rosary at 7-8), at Frye Chapel and Mortuary and a Funeral Mass will be held in his honor on Wednesday, June 11th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.  Burial services will follow at Palo Verde Cemetery, with a Reception to follow at the St. Joan of Arc Parish Hall.
