Peggy
Rubalcava
Mar 15, 1947 — Apr 1, 2019
Blythe
Peggy was born March 15, 1947 in Monte Vista, Colorado to Juan and Stella Marques. She graduated from Center High School in 1963. After high school Peggy went on to spend time working in Washington, DC and Denver, Colorado for the FBI.
Peggy married Jose Rubalcava on February 16, 1970. Together they had two sons, Gabriel and Tim. They started their life together in Center, Colorado. They spent many years in Grants, New Mexico where Peggy was able to stay home and raise her boys. Then the family moved to Blythe, California in 1985. In Blythe, Peggy worked for the school district and eventually for the Chuckawalla Valley State Prison which she retired from in 2008.
Everyone who knew Peggy knew her reputation of a hard worker and a great cook, but her humor was what drew everyone to her, even in her final days. Her family meant the world to her and she was especially proud of her two grandchildren Joseph and Brielle. Peggy had also grown close to her friends in the local congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses as she progressed in her study and in her relationship with Jehovah.
In the last 20 years, Peggy battled three different types of cancer. Her final battle ended when she fell asleep in death with her family by her side on April 1, 2019.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents Juan and Stella and siblings Duane, Juan, Stella, Sandra, Larry, and Elinore Marques.
She is survived by her husband Jose, her sons Gabriel and Tim, and her grandchildren Joseph and Brielle. Also survived by siblings Dorotea Archuleta, Rick Marques, Barbara Marques, Bill Marques, and Tammy Zamora and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was loved by many and will be missed every day.
