Nita Faye Crawford Curl, 73, passed away peacefully at UCLA Medical Center Los Angeles, after a 4-month battle with complications from open heart surgery, on November 24, 2023, surrounded by family. Born on January 14, 1950, in Seymour, Texas. She was the oldest of 3 children born to Tom and Lenora Faye Crawford (Golemon).

Nita was raised in Seymour, Amarillo, and Brawley graduating from Brawley High School in 1968. After graduation, she managed the Dairy Queen in Brawley until she met Charles E. Curl. After meeting in September, they married on November 22, 1969, in Amarillo.

Returning to Brawley, they remained there until December 1974 when Charles enlisted in the Army and Nita moved to Blythe to be near family. Charles and Nita relocated to Colorado, while he was in the Armed Services.

Their son, Stuart Edward was born in Blythe on June 7, 1975. Daughter TiaLisa Lynn joined the family on November 29, 1977, in Colorado. After Charles' discharge, the family returned to Blythe.

Nita was a hard worker. She managed several convenience stores before child care at Margaret White Elementary School and Zion Lutheran School's before and after school programs. In later years, she became a staple at Arts and Craft shows selling her amazing woodworking projects.

Nita was a loving wife, mother, sister and Aunt. She is preceded in death by her husband, mother and father.
