NICHOLAS CHASE WILEY
AUGUST 27, 1994 - FEBRUARY 22, 2024

Nicholas Chase Wiley was born on August 27th, 1994 at Palo Verde Hospital to Sharilyn Wiley and Manuel Milke Sr. Nicholas passed away at his home on February 22, 2024.

Nicholas or "Nicko" (his mom's nickname for him), was a loving, caring and devoted son. A friend to everyone, family, friends and co-workers. He had a winning smile and a big, sweet, tender heart. His goal in life was to help people by listening and giving good advice when asked to. If they needed a ride, he would take them or help them however he could.

Nicholas attended Ruth Brown Elementary School, Blythe Middle School and Palo Verde High School, graduating in 2012.

Nicholas grew up in the Community United Methodist Church. He attended Sunday school and was a member of the youth group. He served as the Acolyte for many years. He was always a willing helper with the annual church barbecue every May.  At the annual nativity scene the church set up every Christmas, Nicholas played everything from baby Jesus, a shepherd, storekeeper, tax collector and angel.

Nicholas participated in Blythe Little League playing baseball from T-ball to the Majors.  Nicholas joined the Colorado River 4-H Club when he was 9, his projects were market goat and poultry.  He showed chickens and raised meat pens through graduation. He won the Grand Champion for meat pens in 2012. Nicholas took best of show at the Riverside County Date Festival for several years. He won best of breed at the Colorado River Fair, poultry shows in Victorville, California and also in Kingman, Arizona.

After graduation Nicholas worked for his Uncle Don at Green Valley Enterprises. Nicholas inherited the green thumb gene from his grandparents Lytle and Annita Wiley.  He loved plants, especially houseplants, succulents and cacti.

In March of 2015, Nicholas went to work for the State of California Department of Agriculture, Blythe Inspection Station. At the time of his passing, his title was Plant Quarantine Inspector. Nicholas enjoyed working at the station and with his co­workers.

Nicholas's favorite music was metal and country. He loved attending metal concerts with Zane and Ryan. Some of the concerts he attended were "Warped Tour", "Aftershock" and a few others. His favorite band was 'As I Lay Dying'. His country music favorites were Alabama and Johnny Cash.

Nick was a 'gamer'. He loved to compete. He made many friendships online playing his games.

Nicholas's favorite things were spending time with his family, hanging out with his friends and co-workers and playing with his dogs, Mollee, Tucker and Bo.  Starbucks was definitely his favorite drink place.  He loved to go target shooting and fishing with his friends, Jonez, Jessie, Ben and Andrew.  Nicholas was a sports fan also, he bled Dodger blue and loved the Seahawks football team.  Kobe Bryant and the Lakers were his favorite player and basketball team.

Nicholas is survived by his mother Sharilyn Wiley, father Manuel Milke Sr. (Isidra), brothers Joshua Wiley, Randy Echeverria, Jose Luis Milke, Miguel Milke, Manuel Milke Jr., sisters Maria Luz Milke, Sara Munez, Berta Pedroza, aunts Barbara Carter, Marie Hamilton, Theda Camden (grandma), Patsy Tunnel, Becky Williams, Sally Wiley, Antonia Galaviz de la Torre, Francisca Galaviz, Arcelia Galaviz Lopez, Guadalupe Galaviz, uncles Larry Camden (grandpa), Frankie Johnson, Robert Hamilton. And adopted uncles Robert Ingersoll and Charles Covington, nephews Stewart Echeverria, Eric Echeverria, Thomas Echeverria, nieces Kaitlynne Echeverria, Kathryn Echeverria, Miyoki Wiley, Fiora Wiley, Amara Wiley, and many, many cousins. Best friends, Zane Joneson, Zack Parker, Ryan Hunter, Jonez, Ben, Jessie, Miguel, Ericka and Daniella, co-workers and his dogs Tucker and Bo (Bojangles).

Nicholas was preceded in death by his grandparents Lytle and Annita Wiley, uncles John Wiley and Don Wiley, aunts Linda Wiley and Francisca Milke Ramirez.

Nicholas suffered the last 17 years with an auto-immune disease called Hidradenitis suppurativa, or "HS" for short.  It is a disease that his not well known.  At this time there is no cure for it.  In lieu of flowers please make donations to the research fund for "HS" made in his name.  My hope is one day with more research they will find a cure for this painful disease.  As a mom it was very hard to watch him suffer with his pain and misery from this disease.  Nicholas is no longer in pain.  Donations can be made online to hs-foundation.org

Visitation will be Monday, March 11th, 2024 from 5 to 8 pm. The Celebration of Life service will be Tuesday, March 12th, 2024 at 10:00 am, both held at Frye Chapel and Mortuary, 633 N. 7th Street, Blythe, California.
