Nell Rowden was born in Blythe, CA on Dec. 24th 1942 to Walter and Henrietta Scott.

She graduated from PVHS Class of 1960. She graduated PVC & NAU with a teaching degree.

Early on, Nell worked for Fresh Picked Foods and as a kindergarten teacher at Ruth Brown Elementary. Nell has owned and operated the family business for over 50 years, Blythe Florist and Gifts, which her family opened in 1948.

Nell had been a part of the Yellow Jacket Booster Club, Junior Women's Club, Blythe Leader of 4-H and President of PVHS Band and Color Guards Boosters. Nell served on Palo Verde Valley Library Board of Trustees. She was also on the PVHS alumni board where she had served since 1963! Nell's hobbies included sewing, oil painting and watercolor painting and spending time with her grandkids.

Nell was married to Ronald Rowden for 55 years until he passed away in 2016.  She had three children: Mark Rowden (passed away in 2014), Kristy Rowden Cebreros and David Rowden. She had nine grandchildren: Aaron, Jennifer, Sarah, Martinique, David II, Carmon, Keeley, Katey and Violet. She had four brothers and one sister Gloria, Walter, Chet, John and Ben.  She also had seven great grandkids and two great grandbabies on the way.

Services will be held Saturday, June 18th at Frye Chapel at 12 Noon and reception after at the Golf Course.
