Obituary

Moises S. Soria, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, unexpectedly passed away in his home at the age of 74 on October 10, 2026.

Moises was born on January 9, 1952, and raised in Blythe, California, where he met Leticia Sanchez, who he married in 1973 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. They had 3 children - Moises, Gloria, and Gabriel. For 53 years, they shared a lifetime of love and built a family rooted in faith.

Moises was a devoted Catholic Member, Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus, and Parishioner of the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.

He was honest, dependable, helpful, and genuine. Those who knew him will remember his kindness, as it was one of his many qualities that made him so special to everyone who crossed his path.

Moises dedicated his life to his family and community. He was known for his strong work ethic, integrity, and willingness to help others. He worked at the Blythe Post Office for over 30 years, retiring as Postmaster in 2007. After a brief retirement, he returned to work as a bus operator with Palo Verde Valley Transit Agency, where he spent his remaining working years serving his hometown.

Moises enjoyed the simple things that brought him happiness. He loved going to casinos, watching movies, and proudly cheering on his favorite teams - the USC Trojans, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Seattle Seahawks. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. His sense of humor was one of a kind, in which everyone adored.

Moises is survived by his beloved wife, Leticia; his son, Moises; his daughter, Gloria; his grandsons, Elias and Marcus; and his granddaughters, Ciana, Elli, Ryanne, and Isabel.

He was preceded in death by his baby boy, Gabriel; his parents, Augustine and Erlinda; his parents-in-law, Melitón and Guadalupe Sanchez; his twin brother, Antonio; brothers, Joseph and Fernando; and nephew, Augie.

Though he is no longer with us, his kind eyes, warm smile, generosity, and the love he gave, will live on in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him. He will be deeply missed.

Visitation for Moises will be held at Frye Chapel and Mortuary Thursday, October 29th 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. with Rosary beginning at 6 p.m. Mass will be held at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church Friday, October 30th at 10 a.m.
