Modesto C. Gonzalez, 88, passed away December 26, 2022 at Desert Region Medical Hospital in Palm Springs.

Modesto was born on February 26, 1934 in La Palmita Tamaulipas, Mexico. In 1957 he left home and arrived in Blythe. In 1965 he became a US citizen. He was a proud American. He loved spending time with family and friends. He worked at various farms throughout the Palo Verde Valley. He worked for Riverview Farms, Modern Ginning Company and Chairel Custom Hay for many years and continued to work well past retirement age to continue to provide for his family.

Modesto was preceded in death by his parents Modesto and Herlinda Gonzalez, loving wife Guadalupe, Son Modesto Jr, daughter Maria Isela. His sisters Celia Maldonado and Ofelia Medrano. His brother Ramiro Gonzalez.

Modesto is survived by Son Robert and Daughter Guadalupe, 9 Grandchildren and 8 Great-Grandchildren, Sister Estela Dominguez and Brother Everardo Gonzalez. As well as an abundance of beloved nieces and nephews.

A Memorial service will be held at Frye Chapel in Blythe on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral will be on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Palo Verde Cemetery.
