Mildred Marie Miller was born January 5, 1926 in Henderson, Kentucky to Herbert and Louise Moore. She passed away July 27, 2018 at Blythe Post Acute Nursing Center. She was 92 years old.
Mildred married Bill Jones and two children were born, Billy and Becky. She then met and married Jewell Miller and two children were born, Elizabeth and Helen. At this time they were living in Evansville, Indiana.
In 1956 the family ventured to San Diego, California and then to the Los Angeles area. Mildred disliked the cold weather in the East and Jewell was seeking better employment.
In the 60's they started traveling to the Palo Verde Valley to camp and fish. Upon her husband's retirement in 1984 they left the big city and moved to Mitchell's Camp. They were always in competition as to who could catch the biggest catfish. Upon Jewell's death Mildred moved into Blythe. Learning to drive very late in life, she loved to socialize and drive others everywhere.
She is survived by daughters Becky (Sam) Owen of Utica, Kentucky, Elizabeth (Clay) Corwin of Blythe, California and Helen (Mark) Dennert of Simi Valley, California. She is also survived by many grandchildren: Angela, Lisa, April, Lisa, Brandon, Rachel, Kim, Debbie, Brian, Chuck and Jeremy; many great grandkids and some great-great grandkids. Mildred was known by the kids as "Granny".
Those preceding her in death were her parents, grandson Tommy, her husband's son Billy and many loved one's and friends. She was looking forward to joining them in heaven.
Many thanks go out to Dr. Kenneth Lucero, M.D.; Elsa, visiting nurses and therapists at her home. A very loving caregiver, Carrie, made it possible for her to stay in her home as long as she did with wonderful care.
A Memorial Service will be held at 9:00 am on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at The River Foursquare Church located at 361 N. Lovekin Blvd. in Blythe. Pastor Robert Johnston will officiate.
