They say the character of a man is made up of core moral principles called the Six Pillars of Character: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, caring, fairness and citizenship. Each of these virtues are independently important but together they provide the foundation for a worthy life. And as we age, our character is built, just like a sturdy wall, stone by stone, layer by layer, decision by decision. And just as much as he built a life of these virtues, he could also build you anything you wanted, from a suped up 250r, to a corvair buggy, race boat or even a bridge.

Mike would be the first one to sit you down and tell you that it's ok to start your story TODAY. That your past has no reflection of your future. That there is no such thing as failure, only lessons learned. He taught us so many lessons.

Although his passing was unexpected due to complications of pneumonia, his legacy will live on through the family and friends who were lucky to have known him during his lifetime.

His face will always be missed but his presence will forever be heard in the echo that rides behind you in the desert, felt in the wind that hits your face and takes your breathe away while you're racing down the river, and with every can of some weird flavor of soda as it snaps open around a campfire.

Mike was one of the most incredible men that has ever walked amongst us. A man known for loving unconditionally, living life unapologetically, and being everyone's friend (even when he didn't want to be your friend) in this crazy place we all call life.

He will be greatly missed, his memories forever treasured, and his tenacity and love for life continue on through us all.
