Obituary

On July 7 th , 2018 God called home our loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend MaryLou Montes.

She was born on November 21, 1932 in Miami, Arizona where she was raised.

When she was 21, she moved to Blythe, California where she began to build her life.  She married her late husband Lawrence Montes at an early age, but she became a widow very early on.

She worked for Arakelian Farms for 25 years where she was one of the very first female foreman in the industry in California.

She then retired and dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren.  She loved cooking, and everyone loved her cooking without a doubt.  In her early years, she loved playing softball and as she got older loved watching her LA Dodgers play.  She was definitely the life of any party, always dancing and singing to her music.  And we can't forget what she loved the most - which was talking on the telephone.

She shared such a special bond with her nieces and nephews.

MaryLou always had a way of making everyone feel special and loved and always welcome in her home, no matter what.  She loved helping people and would do absolutely anything for her kids and grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Marlene Berumen, Bobby J Montes , Joey Berumen, Belinda Guilin and Caroline Sherman; her Grandchildren, April Gonzales, Joseph, Gabrielle and Denisia Murillo and great granddaughter Janaya Gonzales, as well as her many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Montes, son Freddy Serna, along with her Mother, Father, two sisters and four brothers.

All services will be held on Monday, July 23 rd , 2018 with visitation beginning at 8:00 am and Rosary starting 9:00 am, at Frye Chapel (633 N. 7 th St. in Blythe).  Mass will then start at 10:00 am at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church (875 E.
