Obituary

Mary Lira, 81, of Blythe, California went to be with our Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 18, 2019 in Palm Springs, California.

Mary was born on October 2, 1937 in Imperial, California to Tom and Maria Lira.

A longtime resident of Blythe, Mary worked various jobs throughout the community those to include the original La Casita, Palo Verde Hospital, The Salvation Army, Healthy Start and most notably as a Care Giver for the County of Riverside where she cared for elders with disabilities for over 35 years.

Mary was a devoted Mother, Grandmother and Friend. She enjoyed early morning yard sales, refurbishing furniture and taking care of the little ones - especially her King, Nathan. She also loved visiting her brother and sister in Hemet. You could always find her antiquing on the streets of Banning. Mary was a beautiful woman both inside and out. She always gave a helping hand to those who needed it. She attended the St. Joan of Arc church for most of her adult life. She loved to hear the church choir sing. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Mary is preceded in death by her Parents, Tom and Maria Lira. Siblings Robert Martinez, Mary Helen Almanza, Jenny Lira and Joe Lira. Daughters; Patricia Teniente and Rebecca Navarro. Grandchildren; Daniel Garcia Jr. and Joshua Green.

She is survived by her children; Christina (Dan) Garcia, Tom (Debra) Teniente, Michael Teniente, Robert Teniente, Raymond Talamante, Yolanda (Jimmy) Lazano, Rosemarie Navarro and Christopher Navarro. Her granddaughters raised as hers; Veronica (Victor) Green, Raquel Rivera and Alyssa Rodriguez. Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she loved dearly.
