Mary Esther Guilin
April 19, 1934 – May 22, 2021

On Saturday, May 22, 2021, Mary Esther Guilin was called home to heaven. Mary Esther was born in Tempe, AZ on April 19, 1934 to Ramon and Carmen Talamante.

As Mary Esther entered early adolescence the Talamante family moved to the Palo Verde Valley in California. Mary Esther graduated in 1953 from Palo Verde High and later attended Palo Verde Junior College in her pursuit of becoming a nurse. While attending college Mary Esther would also hold down multiple jobs, Palo Verde Drug and Blythe Cinemas. It was while working at those jobs that she would meet her husband to be Jesus (Chuchi) Guilin.

Mary Esther and Jesus were married on May 23, 1954. It was not long after that they began their family with birth of their first of their five kids. Mary Esther never got the chance to finish her schooling to become a nurse but that did not deter her. She did finally achieve her dream becoming nurse's assistant for Dr. John Brownlee. She continued as Dr Brownlee's assistant for many years until she took an early retirement to join Chuchi in running the family business (J&J Market). What filled Mary Esther's heart most was her enduring love for Chuchi and spending time with family & friends especially all her grandchildren and an occasional trip to the casino.

Mary Esther was preceded in death by her parents Ramon Talamante and Carmen Ruiz, siblings Alicia Alvarez, Richard, Carlos, Rudy, and Ramon (Monchi) Talamante.

Mary Esther is survived by her five children Jesus Guilin, Yolanda Soto (Daniel), Norma Wellentin (Scott), Richard Guilin, and Danny Guilin (Stephanie). Siblings Delores Gonzales, David Talamante, 12 Grandchildren, and 13 Great Grandchildren.

Rosary will be held 8:00 AM June 25th followed by funeral service at 9:00 AM at Frye Chapel. She will be interned at Blythe Cemetery. A Celebration of life for Mary Esther and her late husband Jesus will follow at location and time to be announced a later date.
