With sadness in our hearts, we announce the passing of Maria A. Ayala ("Sra. Ayala") on December 11, 2023, at the age of 89 in Indio, California. She passed peacefully with her family at her bedside.

Maria was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Maria was born in Agua Prieta, Sonora, Mexico on August 01, 1934. She was the eldest of 19 children, and she immigrated to the United States in 1957. She later settled in Ripley, California in 1968 with her six (6) children. Maria was a loving and caring mother. She loved listening to music, dancing, watching telenovelas, playing slots at the casino, and enjoying family gatherings.

María is survived by her sons: Marco A. Granillo (Reina L.), Alfredo Cantillo (Margarita), José Luis Ayala (Eva María), Rosalvina Gutierrez (Salome), Francisca Rodríguez, Jesús Ayala (Martha); and several grandchildren (14), great-grandchildren (19) and great-great grandchildren (2). She will be missed by family and friends. We will miss you and never forget you!

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 19th from 5-8:00pm with Rosary starting at 7pm at Frye Chapel.  Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, Dec. 20th at 10:00am at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church with burial services following immediately at Palo Verde Cemetery.
