Marcel Danielle Thompson, 38, also known as "Self" was born July 29, 1987 at Palo Verde Hospital in Blythe, California to Curtis and Alice Thompson. He passed away March 7, 2026.

Marcel graduated from Palo Verde High School in 2005. Marcel loved God and gave his life to Christ in 1996 under the leadership of his present Pastor Jody C. Rogers.

Marcel loved his family and would do anything for them. You could always count on him to help at all family functions and to keep everyone entertained. That is unless his beloved Dallas Cowboys were playing. He was a fan to the end win or lose.

Marcel worked for Wonzek Corp as a Solar Installer until he became injured on the job, causing him to be disabled.

Marcel married Rocio Gamez February 14, 2014. The love of his life. With this union he was blessed with two daughters Karizma Rojo and Deztiny Felix and 1one granddaughter Luna Hernandez.

Marcel was preceded in death by his grandparents Miles and Jessie Scott, Odessa and Leon Thompson, father Curtis Thompson, uncle Roland C. Pride, best friend/cousin Antonio Nunez Jr.

Left behind to cherish his memories are his wife Rocio Thompson, daughters Karizma and Deztiny, granddaughter Luna, mother Alice (Scott) Thompson, sister Mioshi Scott, Nephew Markel Noble (Yasmine), great nephew Kylin Noble, and a host of uncles aunts, cousins, and friends.

Visitation for Marcel will be held at Frye Chapel on Thursday, March 26th from 5 – 8 p.m.

Funeral Service will also be held at Frye Chapel on Friday, March 27th at 10 a.m.
