WARNING: The following obituary has inappropriate content for children (They'll use it to argue against going to school.).

You see, Luis dropped out midway through the 10th grade.

Apparently, he already knew what he wanted to do with his life...wash dishes at the Hobo Joes and date waitresses.  That didn't work out.

Lou attended U.T.I. in Phoenix Arizona (1982) earning a certificate in automotive technology then, working at various general Motors dealerships for approximately 8 years.

Luis moved on; the ensuing years had Luis establishing 3 separate and distinct businesses.  An Amway distributorship, a package delivery service fleet, and a barbeque and outdoor products store (Desert BBQ --Palm Springs) with 2 locations, Oh, and in-between, he opened a hair salon for his then wife (Ezmeralda) where he built every cabinet, table and work station in his garage...they were beautiful, straight and true.

One day (surprise!), the family was invited to attend his graduation from Mt. Sac. College.  Luis had earned a degree. Associate of Science industrial design Engineering.

Lou went to work for the Fed-Ex corporation as a Process Engineer (Sorry kids...get to class).

Luis loved people and his tribe of friends and he migrated to the cooler climes of coastal southern California hitting every dollar drink night from Palm Springs to Tijuana on the way.  Money was tight as most everyone was a college student sharing apartments, food, ragged worn out cars but they made it to become professionals and to hear it, it was apparently more fun than what came next --careers, family, responsibility.
Our group once invited another group of lady's home from the club. As usual, money was tight but we scrounged our money together for some after hour libations (a case of Budweiser). Things were going great. One girl though, would look at Louis coquettishly, throw her head back, kill a beer, then reach out for another, this went on for a little while and I approached Lou and said "man she's checking you out", Lou looked at me with a pained expression and exclaimed sorrowfully, "she's drinking all the beer".

If laughter and friendship were a currency this brotherhood would be wearing top hats and judging by the Ross store sweaters and TJ Max turtle necks shown in the photos circulating, top hats would not have raised an eyebrow.

Lou mostly spent his free-time in Blythe where depending on the weather (or not) he could be found on the river boating, running the desert washes, or helping out our parents at home. He destroyed numerous boats, baja bugs, and motorcycles under the guise of testing. He taught his son (Anthony), nephew (Lonzo) and brother (Martin) how to ride --FAST. Martin never really caught on but the kids did and he thoroughly enjoyed seeing them learn new ways.

This narrative can barely hint to Lou's attitude to living and his ability to reinvent himself and rise. it must be mentioned though that Luis was NEVER without a dog (or dogs). German shepherds (Clyde), Labradors (Lee) and poodles (Maya). They all got along great (says a lot), and we all at least once, got a German shepherd puppy as a gift.

Luis was a first-call for many of us and his gregarious and fun-loving ways will have us reaching for the phone for a long time.

As a son our parents couldn't' ask for more, they won't admit it but they had a favorite (we know Mom and Dad). As a brother and friend, well, it's hard to make a distinction, and there'll be no need to speculate --its gonna be rough.

Luis is survived by his dog Lee.

Rosary and viewing are set for Thursday, August 20th at Frye Chapel (6:00 to 8:00pm), burial  on Friday, August 21st at the Palo Verde Cemetery (10:00am).

Due to the covid-19 situation the family is exploring after service get together possibilities --We know, it sucks.
