Loretta Parrish Edmond, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. Born on January 16, 1941, in Blythe, California, to Verderee Love Parrish and Otis Parrish, Loretta lived a life full of love, faith, and service to others.

Loretta attended Blythe High School, where she was known for her athleticism on the volleyball team and her musical talent as a clarinet player in the band. She graduated high school in 1958. However, in 1979, she returned to school to complete her Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Nursing at Palo Verde College, where she was also a candidate for Freshman Class Queen.

Loretta's favorite scripture, Hebrews 4:12, guided her life and reflected her devotion to God's word. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Blythe, California, where she was a faithful and dedicated member until her passing. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she loved sharing scriptures and spiritual insights with everyone she encountered. Loretta was a woman of few words, but those words spoke volumes. Her love for studying the Bible was a source of strength and joy, and she was known for her gentle encouragement and wisdom. Loretta enjoyed fellowship on the prayer line and watching televangelists, no matter who they were, as long as they were teaching the word of God.

Loretta was married to her loving husband, Lincoln Edmond, on October 4, 1958. Together, they shared 61 wonderful years and raised three children: Stacey Alan Edmond of Blythe, Russell Lamon Edmond (Sonjia White-Edmond) of Los Angeles, and Marsha Elaine Edmond of Riverside. She was the proud grandmother to Chance Edmond (Laura Edmond), Ariel Edmond, and Deja Edmond; great-grandmother to Alaylah, Breasia and Malikiah Edmond; and great-great-grandmother to Jonathan Riley. Loretta was also a sister to her beloved siblings, Doris Parrish Brooks and Cynthia Parrish Jones. Loretta cherished her family deeply and created a legacy of love and faith that will live on in their hearts forever.

As a nurse for over 40 years, Loretta devoted her career to serving others with compassion and professionalism. She began her nursing journey at Palo Verde Hospital, worked at Dr. Wiley's office in Blythe, and later cared for patients at the skilled nursing home in Blythe until her retirement. Her dedication to helping others left an indelible mark on her community.

In her free time, Loretta enjoyed being with her family, reading, and shopping on QVC. Known as a "QVC junkie," she delighted in sharing her purchases. She also had a remarkable knowledge of football and loved discussing recent coaching changes with her family.

Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Verderee (Love) Parrish, sister, Palo Verde Parrish, brother-in-law Larry Brooks, Sr., and husband, Lincoln Edmond. While her passing leaves a void, her spirit lives on in the cherished memories of all who knew and loved her. Rest in peace, Loretta. Oh how we wish that we could have seen the Lord greet you with those words you have longed to hear: "Well done, my good and faithful servant!"

Services will be held at Frye Chapel with visitation on Thursday, January 30th from 5-7:00 p.m. and funeral service on Friday, January 31st at 11:00 a.m.  Committal services will follow immediately after the funeral at Palo Verde Cemetery.
