Lisa Denise Wrighten was born July 2nd, 1966 to Elgin & Kathryn Wrighten of Blythe, CA. Lisa was the first born of five and a bundle of joy to her parents. She received her formal education through the Palo Verde unified school district, where she excelled in her studies.

Lisa ventured out to San Diego to pursue a career in nursing. She then received her certification. It was no secret that cooking was Lisa's passion. She loved to try new recipes and entertain wherever she could with family and friends. BBQ and Gumbo were her specialties. You knew it was going to be a good day when Gumbo was being made.

This passion lead to her owning a BBQ restaurant with her brother Elgin in San Diego. Spending time with her children and grandchildren brought Lisa a lot of joy. She was a wonderful grandmother. Lisa loved the outdoors too. She always found her way to the beach for a relaxing time or traveling back home to visit with loved ones. In her last days she spent her time giving to the community by serving the homeless at the food kitchen in Blythe, CA.

On Sunday November 26, 2017, surrounded by family, Lisa was called to her eternal home, in which she accepted the Lord.

Lisa is preceded in death by her father Elgin Wrighten Sr., her fraternal grandparents Otto and Leora Burton and Madella Wrighten. She is survived by her mother Kathryn Love of Blythe, CA. Her brother Elgin Wrighten Jr. of San Diego, CA. Brother Byran Cavers of Richmond, CA. Sister Katrina Ford of Blythe, CA. Brother Birvy Mack of Blythe, CA. Sister Shawntana Gibson-Love of Blythe, CA and Robert Love of Blythe, CA. Her daughter Ebony Vaughn-McGowan of Blythe, CA. Son Ivory Harris of Calapatria, CA and Son Roger Harris, Jr. of Desert hot springs, CA. 1 God daughter, Five grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and her life partner Ray Hayes Sr.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Lisa on Monday, December 11th at 10:00 a.m. at Frye Chapel with Bishop Sam Burton officiating.
