Obituary

Lestel Jean Wade Woodbury entered this world April 14, 1950 in Lancaster, CA to Betty Wade and Billie Wade. She gained her wings July 11, 2024 to her long battle of breast cancer.

Lestel grew up in Escondido, CA with her parents and her three siblings, Danela, Kevin, and Wendy. She went to school and graduated from Orange Glen High School.

She met her husband Tom Woodbury in 1970 and got married in 1971. They had their first daughter Terry soon after they welcomed two more daughters, Vickie and Shelly. They were together for 9 years until they separated.

The family moved to Blythe, CA in 1978. She met Randy Hargrove Sr. in 1987 and welcomed their first and only son together, Randy Hargrove Jr. before separating a couple years later.

Lestel worked for Blythe Nursing Home for 35 years. She was a hardworking mother. She worked three jobs at one point to make sure all her kids were taken care of. She supported her kids in everything they participated in, such as going to every swim meet or football games.

She was a loving grandma and great grandma to 17 grandkids and 22 great grandkids.

Lestel's hobbies were crocheting and gardening. She took pride in hosting Thanksgiving and Christmas at her house every year. She loved seeing the kid's facial reactions when they opened up all their handmade blankets and scarfs she had lovingly spent all year making for them.

She will be greeted at the gates of heaven by her daughter Terry and her son-in-law Modesto Gonzalez, her mother Betty Wade, father Billie Wade, stepmother Naome Wade, her sister Danela, nephew David Kowalczyke, and brother Kevin Wade, and great grandbabies Anabell Delarosa and Alaia Urias.

She is survived by her children Vickie Hernandez (Angel), Shelly Camargo (Archie), and son Randy Hargrove Jr. (Ana), numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Visitation for Lestel will be Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at Frye Chapel and Mortuary 6 pm-8 pm and the funeral service will be Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at Frye Chapel and Mortuary 9 am. Committal services will follow at Palo Verde Cemetery.
