Kathryn "Kitty" Louise Burton was born to Otto and Leora Burton on November 30, 1945 in Blythe, CA. She was the eldest of 6 children. She graduated from Palo Verde High School in 1964 and Palo Verde College. Kathryn began raising Bryant Cavers then she met and married Elgin Wrighten in 1965 and within their union birthed Lisa, Elgin, and Katrina Wrighten. Soon after she was blessed with son Birvy Mack and daughter Shawntana Gibson and many years later she adopted her great-niece Shaquille Brown. She married Robert Love Sr. in 1980. They were married for 17 years.

Kathryn was well loved within the community. She worked for K-mart, Palo Verde school district as a lunch monitor and retired from Campesinos Unidos in May 2004. Kathryn came to the Lord at an early age under the Leadership of Elder Bowens of Greater White Rose, Kathryn attended Inter-denominational prayer band with Rev. Rosemary Stokely, was First Lady of St. John Baptist and an active member of Shiloh Agape Ministries. Kathryn was a church mother, ordained evangelist, and praise team member. Kathryn was also one of the lead singers of Leon Jackson and the Gospel Treasures with her most notable song being "Didn't I tell you God said everything will be alright". Kathryn loved helping with fundraisers and bake sales.

Kathryn was a true Matriarch of her family. She delighted in hosting Thanskgiving and Christmas dinner annually. She made candy bags for her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews during the holidays. Even birthdays were designated to her home. Kathryn enjoyed talking on the phone daily with her sister Diane. She loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and doing arts and crafts. Kathryn even made it her job to do her great-granddaughters' hair on a regular basis. She was a light to many that have crossed her path, but she will be mostly missed when calling her home phone and she would answer with "Praise the lord, Hello?"

Kathyrn was called home on April 15, 2024, at Desert Regional Hospital in Palm Springs with loved ones by her side. She is preceded by her mother and father Leora and Otto Burton, Brother Robert Burton, Sister Patricia Burton, Daughter Lisa Wrighten and Brother-in-Law Sam Green. Kathryn is survived by her children Bryant Cavers (Dorothy) of San Jose, CA, Elgin Wrighten of San Diego, CA, Katrina Ford of Blythe, CA, Birvy Mack of Blythe, CA and Shawntana "Tanya" Love Gibson of Blythe, CA. Leora "Diane" Green of Blythe, CA, Brother John Burton (Lynn) of Goffstown, New Hampshire, Leon Burton (Barbara) of Blythe, CA, 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Kitty will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

A memorial service for Kitty will be held on Friday, May 10th at 11:00 a.m. at the Spirit of Life Church in Blythe.  A Repast will follow the service at the Blythe VFW Post 2987, 148 N. 1st St., Blythe, CA.
