In Loving Memory of June Whiting

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of June Whiting, a cherished partner, devoted mother, and beloved grandmother.  June departed this world on July 10, 2023, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family. While we mourn the loss of an incredible soul, we also celebrate the remarkable life she lived.  June was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ruth Arnold, her son, Jonathan Whiting Jr., and her siblings, Peachy Martin, Bette-Gail Strong, and Robert Arnold.

June Whiting was born on June 13, 1949, in Lowell, MA. From a young age, June exuded warmth, compassion, and a zest for life that touched the hearts of all who knew her. She possessed a remarkable ability to light up any room with her infectious laughter and radiant smile, bringing joy to the lives of those fortunate enough to cross her path.

Throughout her life, June was a devoted partner to David Baker, sharing a deep and abiding love that served as the foundation of their relationship. Their unwavering bond was an inspiration to all who witnessed it, and their love will continue to shine as a testament to the power of true companionship.

As a mother, June poured boundless love, wisdom, and guidance into the lives of her sons, Jonathan and Jason Whiting. She instilled the values of compassion, integrity, and perseverance, shaping them into remarkable people. Her unconditional love and unwavering support were a source of strength for Jonathan and Jason throughout their journeys, forever etching June's influence on their hearts.

June's role as a grandmother was one she cherished deeply. She adored her grandsons, Jonathan, Logan, and Drake Whiting, and found immense joy in their company. Her love knew no bounds, and she reveled in the opportunity to create lifelong memories with her beloved grandchildren. She would attend their sporting events, take them fishing and camping with Baker, and supported them in their academic endeavors.  June's legacy will live on through the love, laughter, and wisdom she imparted upon them.

Beyond her roles as a partner, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, June was an inspiration to her community. She dedicated her time and energy to her family and friends, spreading kindness and compassion wherever she went. Her selflessness and generosity of spirit touched countless lives and made a lasting impact on those she helped.

June loved life and in particular she loved "steemas," the Patriots, prime rib, poker machines at the casino (where she hit numerous royal flushes), buying presents for her family, fishing in the Sierras, skiing (making one run on the ski slopes and then drinking in the lodge), kicking everyone's butts in Song Burst, telling jokes, getting her feet rubbed, and doing the YMCA (especially on the floor).  Other than her family however, June loved her dogs more than anything.  They were her children, and we're sure they greeted her with love when she crossed over.

June Whiting leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and compassion that will forever be cherished by her long-time partner, David Baker, her son, Jason Whiting, her grandsons, Jonathan, Logan, and Drake Whiting, and daughter-in-law Lilja Whiting. In addition, June leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. While we mourn her loss, we find solace in knowing that her spirit will continue to guide and watch over her loved ones.

A celebration of June's life will be held on July 21, 2023, at Frye Chapel, Blythe, California at 11:00 a.m. Friends, family, and all whose lives were touched by June are invited to join in honoring her memory.

June Whiting's light may have dimmed in our world, but the radiance of her spirit will forever illuminate our hearts. May her soul find eternal peace, and may we carry the love she bestowed upon us, keeping her memory alive in our thoughts and actions.

Rest in peace, dear June. You will be profoundly missed, but never forgotten.
