Joyce Gay Linares entered eternal life on April 23, 2019. Her final days were spent surrounded by her family and friends. Joyce touched many with her caring heart and generous ways throughout her long and memorable life.

Joyce was born in Blythe, CA in 1932. She met Louie, the future love of her life, in the 5th grade and ultimately enjoyed 68 years of marriage. Joyce and Louie began dating in high school and were married shortly after graduation.

Joyce and Louie raised 4 children and have 6 grandchildren. In addition to her children and grandchildren Joyce had a life time full of accomplishments. She graduated valedictorian of both Palo Verde High School and Palo Verde College. She was an accomplished pianist and enjoyed accompanying the church choir. She was also the care giver for both of her parents during their final years. Her gentle smile, love for music and golf for over 20 years (consistently breaking 100) brought so much joy to our family. She was a fantastic cook and loved entertaining her family and friends. Joyce encouraged us to make goals to achieve our best.

Joyce is survived by her loving husband Louis Vincent Linares; daughters Elisa Linares, Kathy Linares, son Louie Blake Linares and wife Kelly Linares, daughter Krista Behringer and husband Matthew Behringer, as well as her 6 grandchildren; Brandon Crisler, Cameron, Lucas, Gillian, Clare, and Isaac Behringer. Joyce will be missed by all but we are comforted by our Catholic faith that we will all be together again someday.

Rosary will be held on Friday, April 26th at 10:00 a.m. with Funeral Mass beginning at 11:00 a.m., all at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Burial services will follow at Palo Verde Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. with a reception afterwards at La Casita Dos, 830 W. Rice St., Blythe, California.
