Josefina T. Valdez, de 93 años, partio hacia las moradas celestiales el 27 de Enero de 2022 en Blythe, CA. Nació el 25 de Junio de 1928 en Sehuadehuachi, Sonora, México. Hija de José y Mercedes Tapia. Se casó con Francisco Valdez el 17 de Diciembre de 1955. Partio dejando a sus tres hijas, Lucila (Aurelio) Díaz, Martha (José) Hernández, Juanita (Juan) Herrera y su yerno Jackie Rice, doce nietos, doce bisnietos y numerosas sobrinas y sobrinos. Le precedieron en la muerte su esposo Francisco y recientemente, su hija, Marcie Rice.

Josefina llegó al valle de Palo Verde con su familia en 1969 desde San Luis Río Colorado, Sonora, México. Fue una dedicada ama de casa toda su vida criando a sus cuatro hijas y trabajando tiempo parcial en el campo agrícola de temporada. También era conocida por ser una excelente costurera, diseñaba ropa, reparaba y modificaba casi cualquier prenda.

Nuestra querida Josefina fue una mujer de Dios ejemplar, devota, fiel y fuerte que le sirvió toda su vida al Señor. Ella deja un hermoso testimonio de fe que ha fundado una base sólida para que generaciones sigan su ejemplo. Le encantaba asistir a los servicios de la iglesia Templo Siloe, en la cual fue una fiel miembra por aproximadamente 45 años. Su devoción era leer su Biblia y fue una guerrera de oración. Le encantaba pasar tiempo con su familia, nietos y bisnietos. Hacía sus famosas enchiladas Sonorenses, menudo, pozole y sus deliciosos Quelites con tortillas de maíz caseras, ya que su familia se reunía constantemente en su casa. Tenía un corazón amoroso y generoso. Cada año hasta esta última Navidad, se aseguraba de comprarle a todos sus nietos un regalo de Navidad para que lo abrieran a medianoche; detalles que jamás se olvidarán.

Aquellos que tuvimos la bendición de conocerla realmente la extrañaremos, pero encontramos gozo y consuelo al saber que ha terminado su carrera cristiana fuerte y fiel en su fe; y ahora se regocija en la presencia del Señor junto a su esposo, hija, hermanos/hermana y padres. Nos aferramos a los preciosos recuerdos de nuestras reuniones familiares en su casa, comiendo su deliciosa comida, escuchando sus hermosas palabras de aliento de la palabra de Dios y su sabiduría que impactó mucho a quienes la rodeaban. Hasta que volvamos a encontrarnos con nuestra hermosa reina, continuaremos amándola y manteniendo sus valores en nuestros corazones para siempre.

Se llevará a cabo una Celebración de vida, junto a su hija, el Martes 15 de Febrero de 2022, de 5 pm a 8 pm, en el Frye Chapel; y el funeral será el Miércoles 16 de Febrero de 2022 a las 10 am en la Iglesia Adventista del Séptimo Día, 415 E. Barnard, Blythe, CA. Los servicios de entierro seguirán inmediatamente después en el cementerio de Palo Verde.

Josefina T. Valdez, 93, entered the gates of heaven on January 27, 2022, in Blythe, CA. She was born June 25, 1928 in Sehuadehuachi, Sonora, Mexico to Jose and Mercedes Tapia. She married Francisco Valdez on December 17, 1955. She is survived by her three daughters, Lucila (Aurelio) Diaz, Martha (Jose) Hernandez, Juanita (Juan) Herrera, and son-in-law Jackie Rice, twelve grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Francisco and recently, her daughter, Marcie Rice.

Josefina came to the Palo Verde Valley with her family in 1969 from San Luis Rio Colorado, Sonora, Mexico. She was a dedicated homemaker all her life raising her four precious daughters and working part-time in seasonal agricultural fieldwork. She was also known for being an excellent seamstress, designing clothing, repairing, and altering just about any piece of garment.

Our beloved Josefina was an exemplary devoted, faithful, and strong woman of God who served him her entire life. She leaves behind a beautiful testimony of faith that has set a strong foundation for generations to follow her example. She loved attending church services at Templo Siloe, where she was a member for approximately 45 years. She also loved reading her bible and was a prayer warrior. She loved spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She would make her famous Sonoran enchiladas, menudo, pozole, and her delicious Quelites with homemade corn tortillas, as her family gathered often at her home. She had such a loving and giving heart. Every year and up until this last Christmas, she ensured to purchase all her grandchildren a Christmas gift to open at midnight, which are details that will never be forgotten.

She will truly be missed by those who were blessed to know her, but we find joy and comfort in knowing that she has finished her Christian race strong and victorious; and is now rejoicing in the Lord's presence next to her husband, daughter, brothers/sister, and loving parents. We hold on to the precious memories of our family gatherings at her house, eating her delicious food, listening to her beautiful words of encouragement from the word of God, and her wisdom that greatly impacted those around her. Until we meet our beautiful queen again, we will continue to love her and hold on to her values in our hearts forever.

A combined Celebration of Life (with her daughter) will be held on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at 5 pm to 8 pm, at Frye Chapel; and the funeral service will be Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at 10 am, at Blythe Central Seventh Day Adventist Church, 415 E. Barnard. Burial services will follow immediately after at Palo Verde Cemetery.
