Jose Jesus "Chuy" Cano
February 18, 1953 – April 30, 2021
Jose Jesus "Chuy" Cano was born on February 18, 1953 to Romana Jimenez Santiago and Jesus Cano Tapia in Buenavista de Canedo, Jalisco, Mexico. Jose was called unexpectedly to heaven on April 30, 2021.
In 1975, Jose came to the Palo Verde Valley with a work visa at the age of 18. On December 23, 1976, Jose married the love of his life Maria Magdalena Medina, in Buenavista de Canedo, Jalisco, Mexico; they had two sons Josue and Nefatali Cano. In 1986, Jose would bring his loving wife and two sons to the U.S., where his only daughter Gloria Cano was born. Jose worked in the agriculture industry for many farms, from ages 18 through 51 years of age. His last employer of 15 years was Desert Security Farms. Jose was a hardworking, insightful, giving, caring, forgiving and well-respected man. He was full of love for those around him and brought joy to all. He was always there to guide and give great advice about life to his grandchildren; who he wanted nothing but the best for. His laughter and big personality lit up every room he entered. Jose enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, listening and singing to Mexican music while enjoying a few drinks. Although "Chuy" will truly be missed by all, he leaves us with great memories and lifelong advice to hold on to.
Jose is preceded in death by his father Jesus Cano Tapia and mother Romana Santiago Jimenez. Jose is survived by his wife of 44 years Maria Magdalena Cano, sons; Josue (Laura) Cano, Neftali (Lety) Cano, daughter Gloria (Jayson) Cano; and grandchildren: Jaylene Cano, Julissa Cano, Jazmyne Cano, Jisselle Cano, Josue Cano, Neff Cano, Marcelino Cano, Camila Cano and Gio Cano.
Services for Jose will be held on Wednesday, May 12th at Frye Chapel with Visitation from 6-8:00 p.m., Rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, May 13th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church and burial services will follow at Palo Verde Cemetery.
