In Loving Memory
Jorge Eugenio Varela
"Bucky"
July 22, 1967 - February 20, 2023

Jorge Eugenio Varela, known to friends and family as Bucky, was born on July 22, 1967, in San Luis Rio, Colorado, Sonora, Mexico, to Eugenio and Enriqueta Varela. Bucky came to the United States with his family when he was 12yrs old. They moved to Bakersfield, CA, for a year, then to Tolleson, AZ, where he attended schools—later moved to Blythe, CA, in 1989, where he met many of his lifelong friends.

In 1991 Bucky met Maribel, and they had four beautiful girls (daughters), Tita, Sol, Chelly, and Macu. Bucky knew he could always count on her when he was in trouble, regardless of the time, circumstances, and situations. Bucky was happy they could make amends with each other and become a blended family.

Throughout the years, he remained extremely close to his brothers and sisters, Francisca (Panchita) , Norma, Luciano (Guero), Pedro Varela, and Tio Lilo, whom he called every night before bed.

He dedicated his life to being a Hay truck loader and driver. His career started at a very young age going to work with his dad in the family trucking business, Varela's Trucking, to load and haul hay. His dad showed him how to drive, tie down and load the hay.

Bucky loved to entertain, cook, and help in any way he could. He loved to make people laugh with all his goofy jokes. He had a passion for low riders. He went on to join car clubs, attend car shows, and cruise the streets of Avondale, AZ.

Jorge's four girls are Maribel, Marisol, Marisabel, and Maricruz Varela, whom he was highly proud of, and loved. Jorge also had two sons, Jorge Jr. and Miguel Varela, whom he loved dearly. He loved spending time with his kids and grandkids.

His lifelong NFL team was the San Francisco 49ers; we could hear him Chanting, "Let's Go, 9ers," from a mile away. Nevertheless, nobody mattered more to him than his big dog, Boy, AKA "The Pu**y Dog."

Bucky, in March of 2022, was diagnosed with stage 2 Leukemia. He immediately decided to fight for his life for his kids, grandkids, Boy, and family. He Promised to Fight until the end and would say, "I don't want to leave without a fight!" He came home to Blythe, CA, to be closer to family. Bucky and Tita agreed to go on this journey together, while the girls were their most prominent supporters from start to finish. With all the love and support from his girls, family, and friends til the end.

Jorge entered to rest on February 20, 2023, comforted by the love and support of his entire family. The memory of Bucky is survived by Boy (dog), Tita, Sol, Chelly, Macu, Marixsa, Jr, Miguel, his favorite Nephews Victor and Pillin, his siblings, Panchita, Norma, Guero, and Pedro, in addition to the rest of the family and friends. With open arms, his beloved father and mother are now welcoming their son into the gardens of heaven.
